A long-time client of Reconstruction Experts in service and maintenance, this property offers an extra level of familiarity and responsibility to the team.
Catastrophe hits
The Challenge
On the morning of September 10, 2017, Hurricane Irma hit Florida as a Category 4 storm, ripping the roofs off buildings, causing extreme flooding, and knocking power out to more than 6.8 million people. This lakefront property took a direct hit and needed emergency roof repairs to help with leaks and the concerned community needed trusted support.
The calm in the storm

After completing emergency repairs to stop the roof leaks, we worked hand in hand with each large loss adjuster to review pricing and logistics for long-term reconstruction of the issues caused by Hurricane
Irma. After 2 years, working with 9 different insurance companies, the project reached the point of insurance payout and work began on the roofs. RE hosted a town hall, attended by hundreds of residents of the 654-home property, who voiced concerns about the magnitude of this project being too big and understandable anxiousness over protecting their homes.
Communication is key
Final Result
RE completed thousands and thousands of tile replacements on the property, while conducting hundreds of homeowner conversations to ensure trust and clear communication throughout the project. The property has been fully restored and the community is excited to love their place again.
